O’Connell calls on Boris to allow bikes on trams
Croydon’s London Assembly member, Steve O’Connell, has called on the Mayor to allow cyclist to take their bikes on trams.
Tackling the Mayor at Question time today, Mr O’Connell asked Boris Johnson to look into the possibility of allowing people to travel on Croydon’s trams with their cycles during off-peak periods.
Mr O’Connell said: “Today I asked Boris whether he would allow a trial period to allow people to take their bikes on Croydon’s trams during off-peak periods.
“I was surprised he only committed to look at the idea, even though Transport for London commissioned a report some years back that found the idea entirely workable.
“I shall now campaign to ensure that a trial period during which bikes can be taken on Croydon’s trams is launched.”
